Worth the money and very durable.
By GJI
My son and I go camping and hiking all the time and even though I don't bring anything besides my Android phone he usually brings his iPhone and his iPad Mini. He also, even though I tried to convince him to take advantage of the nature while were out there, generally tends to stay on his iPhone texting or, when we stopped, playing Iron Man or The Smurfs when we take a break or when we set up camp for the night.
Of course all of this uses battery power and he was always complaining that he didn't like camping because his batteries always went dead. So, to make him happy my X wife bought the NovaBank 6000mAh external battery for him.
We used it for or five times now and I will say that it has been quite handy to have around. We usually hike in the North Georgia Mountains and the sun is usually abundant so using the battery while the sun charges it works pretty good. Charging the battery either in the sun or plugging it in works just fine although I will say that it takes a little extra time to let the sun do the work.
Of course, the cost to let the sun do it is absolutely zero so that's a good thing. We actually put Velcro on the back of it and matching Velcro on his backpack so that he could have it Velcro onto the backpack and in the sun the whole time when we're walking. (That was his idea and I have to admit it was pretty smart.)
One interesting thing to note is that the product actually instructs you to not use the adapter cord it comes with but rather to use the courts that, with your devices. As a backup battery or something to have in case of emergency this is definitely an excellent device for the money and much cheaper than some of the other backup battery chargers on the market right now.
Is the NovaBank 6000mAh external the best on the market? I don't think so but, like I said, for the money it's definitely worth it. My son certainly is happy with it and, as far as I'm concerned, anything that keeps him from complaining is fine with me. Also, considering my son has banged his backpack around quite a bit and the NovaBank has been on the outside of it every time, it's pretty darn durable.
