5One of the best battery packs I have tested and reviewed!
By jjceo (jjceo@comcast . net)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1MYKNLK056BK1 This review is on Poweradd 12000 mAh black battery pack. This battery pack is powerful and in my test results it performed extremely well in supplying a charging current to an iPad 2 an iPhone 4 and an iPad 3. This is one of the best battery packs that I have tested and I was able to get 9345.68 mAh of charging capacity out of the battery pack with is 77.88% of its capacity. This is an excellent result. It is also designed to allow you to charge two items at the same time. It comes with connectors and other accessories that you need to make it more useful. I was also able to charge the Poweradd battery and charge two iPhones at the same time using the battery while it was charging. You may need to use your original charging cables for some devices so take them with you if you need them.

It is a good power resource to keep your USB recharged devices operating on those long work or school days or while you are traveling. This battery pack is a real source of power and many people like me are power users of their smart phones and tablets and need a battery like this. If you are constantly using your phone or tablet then you know that they will run out of power sometime during the day or evening. If you are not near an AC wall outlet with your charger or in your car with a charger what can you do? It is especially important to have some way to recharge if you are traveling in a plane, in the middle of a school classroom or on a bus or train. In addition many of the newer tablets are real power hungry devices and it takes a lot to recharge them.

Here is a powerful battery pack with two USB ports. It can charge your tablet devices or charge your smart phone and if you want it can do both of them simultaneously. I charged two iPhones at the same time in my testing. One USB output is rated at 5 VDC and 2.1 Amps and the other is rated at 5 VDC and 1 Amp. You should make note that there is no flashlight built into this device as stated on the Amazon spec page. The lack of not having a flashlight did not affect my rating of the product because of its superior charging performance.

It uses Lithium Ion battery technology and carries a 12000 mAh capacity. This is a larger sized battery pack and it weighs in weighs in at 8 7/8 ounces. This battery pack will still fit easily into a brief case, back pack or a computer bag or a purse. I have included a video of the batteries features and I hope it is helpful to you.

When I test a battery I do an extensive set of tests that fully charges the battery and then I use it to charge devices and make sure that it is fully depleted when my tests are done. I time each test and document the results as the test progresses. I then calculate the mAh of capacity that the battery supplied and I then calculate its charging efficiency. This process takes from 3 hours to, in very large batteries, about a day for testing. I don't take any short cuts or guess and every battery has these tests performed on it and documented. This is to assure that the battery is tested and it performs well. If a battery has performed poorly I then run the tests again to verify the results.

What's in the box?

* The Poweradd 1200mAh black battery pack
* The battery pack comes with an instruction manual
* No AC wall charger comes with the battery pack but it can be charged with any USB wall charger and I recommend one with 5VDC and 1 to 2.1 Amps output current. Use the Micro USB charging tip for charging the battery. You can use a computer USB 2.0 port to charge the battery pack but it is 12000 mAh and it will take twice as long than if you use a 1 Amp AC wall charger and over 4 times as long if your use a 2.1 Amp AC wall charger.
* One charging cable for the battery pack or your smart phones that is 7 inches long but it can be extended to 18 inches.
* 4 various smart phone connectors, Micro USB, Mini USB, Nokia and an Apple 30 pin connector.

This is a good product and below I have listed its features and benefits as well as my test data for your review. Please take the time to quickly watch the video and if you have any questions send me a comment and I will try to help you.

The Poweradd 12000 mAh battery pack Features:

* Powerful 12000 mAh capacity specification
* The unit is compact is size and weighs in at 8 7/8 ounces.
* This battery is attractively designed in black plastic. The front has a push button for starting the charging of your device or to read out the battery's charged capacity using LED lights.
* It has LED lights that show the battery charge. The 4 LEDs indicate 25, 50, 75 and 100 % of battery capacity.
* There are two USB power output ports. One USB is rated at 5VDC at 1 Amp and the other USB port is rated at 5 VDC and 2.1 Amps. I could charge my iPhone 4 in both ports.
* Press the ON button when you plug in a device and that begins the charging process of your device. It is recommended that you unplug your device when it is fully charged.
* The battery uses Lithium Ion battery technology.
* The battery pack can be recharged 500+ times
* Warranty is 12 months

Test charging an iPad 2 to measure the output capacity:

Start iPad 2 at 8% and the Poweradd 12000mAh battery at 4 LEDs
* 30 min 17% and the Poweradd battery at 4 LEDs
* 60 min 26% and the Poweradd battery at 4 LEDs
* 90 min 35% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 120 min 41% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 150 min 54% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 180 min 61% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 210 min 68% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 240 min 75% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 270 min 84% and the Poweradd battery at 3 LEDs
* 300 min 92% and the Poweradd battery at 2 LEDs
* 330 min 100% and the Poweradd battery at 2 LEDs

* .92 percent of a charge on an iPad (2) x 6944 mAh = 6388.48 mAh

iPhone 4 at 22 % and Poweradd 12000 mAh at 2 LEDs of charge
* 30 min 50% battery and Poweradd 12000 mAh at 2 LEDs
* 60 min 75% battery and Poweradd 12000 mAh at 2 LEDs
* 90 min 90% battery and Poweradd 12000 mAh at 2 LEDs
* 120 min 100% battery and Poweradd 12000 mAh at 2 LEDs

* .78 x 1420 mAh = 1107.6 mAh charged

iPad 3 at 61% and Poweradd at 2 LEDs
* 30 min 65% battery and Poweradd at 2 LEDs
* 60 min 69% battery and Poweradd at 1 LEDs
* 90 min 73% battery and Poweradd at 1 LEDs
* 120 min 77% and the Poweradd battery is dead

* .16 x 11560 mAh = 1849.6 mAh charged

Test results summary:

* Charging the iPad 2 = .92 x 6944 mAh = 6388.48 mAh charged.
* Charging the iPhone 4 = .78 x 1420 mAh = 1107.6 mAh charged.
* Charging the iPad 3 = .16 x 11560 mAh = 1849.6 mAh charged.

* Total mAh capacity consumed was 6388.48 + 1107.6 + 1849.6 = 9345.68/12000 mAh = 77.88% of the battery's rated capacity. This is an outstanding result!

Here are some of the mAh charging requirements for common devices:

* iPhone 4 battery 1,420 mAh battery capacity
* iPhone 4S battery 1,432 mAh battery capacity
* iPad 2 battery 6,944 mAh battery capacity
* iPad 3 battery 11,560 mAh battery capacity
* Kindle Fire battery 4400 mAh capacity
* Kindle Keyboard battery 1750 mAh capacity
* iPhone 5 is 3.8 VDC at 5.45 Wh = 1434 mAh battery
* iPad 4 battery is 11,486 mAh 3.7 VDC at 42.5 Wh
* iPad Mini battery is 4490 mAh at 3.72 VDC 16.7 Wh

As you can see the Poweradd 12000 mAh will not fully charge a totally dead iPad 3 or 4 because it contains 12000 mAh of capacity. Remember, you have to consider the losses in the charging circuits of both the battery pack and the device you are charging. Energy is lost during the voltage conversion, used by the electronics of the battery pack and your device and by the generation of heat. In addition your smart device it not really off as it is connected to the WIFI, receiving text messages, receiving emails, receiving pop up notifications and even possibly connected to the cell phone network

Poweradd 12000 mAh battery pack device charging real world experience:

* iPhone 4 or 5 approximately 6.58 full charges out of a fully charged Poweradd 1200 mAh Portable Power Bank
* iPad 2 approximately 135% of a full charge
* iPad 3 or 4 approximately 80.8% of a full charge
* iPad Mini approximately 208% of a full charge
* Kindle Fire approximately 212% of a full charge

* A normal estimated usable storage is 70% of capacity or .70 * 12000 mAh = 8400 mAh charging capacity available for your electronic devices.

* In my testing I was able to use approximately 9345.68 mAh of capacity or roughly 77.88% of the 12000 mAh capacity. This is an outstanding performance for this style of battery. Especially after testing it on a power hungry iPad 3 as the last item and the battery was already down to 2 LEDs before we started charging the iPad 3.

This is a very good product and deserves a 5 Star rating.

I received a sample product for evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

5highly recommend it~
By Renata Pan
This product does what it advertises, and does it VERY well.

1.I have used this power bank for few days, this product does what it advertises, and does it VERY well.

2. This battery pack is beautifully packaged with black case with a black band around it. It is a powerful battery pack rated at 12000 mAh of capacity and capable of charging two devices simultaneously.

3. During the testing the temperature of the battery pack never even exceeded ambient room temperature. To start your device charging you connect it with the proper cable and press the battery pack's power button and charging starts. The charging will stop automatically when your device is fully charged or the battery pack is depleted.

4. This battery pack also features a LED flashlight built in that can stay on for up to 550 hours when the battery is fully charged. This is ideal for when you travel to have an emergency light in a hotel room, when looking for your keys or when in a dark movie theater.

I highly recommend it.

I'll update this review in a couple of months to see if the battery has a durable life.

5A powerbank that is big in capacity but low in price. Excellent build quality.
By M. Erb
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R310LYMTVWF5AQ Powerbanks are a dime a dozen it seems these days. The Poweradd AS025 is one powerbank that I would have to say rises to near the top of the heap.

This powerbank is very nicely designed and has an attractive brushed aluminum style top face, the rest of the enclosure is glossy plastic.

The capacity of this is quite large coming in at 12000mAh. Plenty of power to charge several devices simultaneously with power left over, depending on what you're charging.

There are two USB outputs, one is 5V/1A, the other is 5V/2.1A. The other port for charging the powerbank is microUSB.

Included with the powerbank are 4 tips: 30-pin Apple connector, miniUSB, microUSB and a small cylindrical plug. Also included is 6" coiled cable that extends to about 21".

My video review covers most everything.

I really like this powerbank and feel it is one of the better overall powerbanks that I have used. It's attractive, well built and operates reliably. Typically these Li-ion battery packs will have a life expectancy of at least 500 charge cycles and that means it should last a long time. I find it indispensible in my daily routine. It ensures that I will always be able to charge my various USB chargeable devices if I have no other means to get power to them.

I was provided a complimentary sample for testing and review purposes. I agreed to provide a fair and honest review in return. I have attempted to do that. If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I'll do my best to answer your question.
