Not up to my expectations

I have tested this product with nexus 7, HTC ONE and HTC EVO 4g. This charger is not suppling more than 1 amp on the Android ports. My Nexus 7 is capable of charging at 1.5 amp. When measured with Battery Monitor Widget Pro, this charger does not go above 1 amp. When I use the original charger, it charges at approximately 1.5 amp. I was expecting a product that does what it stated, but this product did not meet my expectations.

The issue I have with that charger is while it has 5 ports that total 7.5amps it caps it at 5.0amps total (25watts). So you cannot take advantage of all 5 ports at full load. At the time I made that purchase this Anker charger, (36w/7.2a) was not available and according to Amazon was discontinued.
I was contacted by Anker for my review of the 25watt/5.0amp charger and they offered to supply me with the 36watt/7.2amp charger when it came available, assuring me it was only back ordered. True to their word I received the 36watt/7.2amp charger in the mail yesterday.
I will give Anker an A+ rating for customer service in making sure their customers are happy. My review of the 25watt charger was not at all bad, (I rated it 4 stars), I was just disappointed in its limited use.
This Charger is a direct plug (no extension) so you must connect it directly to your outlet or power strip. It has 4 USB charge ports as follows:
1 @ 2100mA (labeled apple-but can be used for any device)
1 @ 2100mA (labeled apple-but can be used for any device)
1 @ 1500mA (labeled android-but can be used for any device)
1 @ 1500mA (labeled android-but can be used for any device)
You have 7.2A and get 7.2A, unlike the 25w/5a charger that allows 7.5a but limited output to 5.0a.
For power hungry devices this is the charger to have. I plugged in at the same time an iPad retina display, an iPad Air, I Galaxy Note 2 and an LG G2 and they charged faster than if they each had their original chargers.
Anker delivers with flying colors on this one.
My only small gripe is I wish it had the same design as its less powerful brother allowing an extension to plug into the outlet.

No overcharge protection circuitry - can't leave devices plugged in UPDATED

Great idea, really need this, but... Instruction Manual says to remove devices when they are charged to prevent damage to device. I contact Anker customer service (prompt response!) asking if it could damage an iPhone to leave it connected to the charger overnight, as it would be fully charged in only a few hours. Their response was "Kindly please be advised that overcharging will affect lifespan of battery, so we suggest you unplug the devices when it is fully charged". So I either get up in the middle of the night to unplug the devices, or have bad dreams about my devices being damaged... I'm returning it. Back to the outlet strip and Apple chargers. By the way, how many people have Apple iPads and Android phones??
UPDATE: Anker customer service responded with the note below, indicating that this device in fact DOES have a chip to limit overcharging. I had already refunded the device, so customer service sent me another one to try! It is working well, and neither the charger or the devices being charged are even warm when the charging is complete. Updating to 4 stars - a star off for being given the wrong info first time around - but great product and great company support. I'm sure their next product I buy will be 5 stars.
Suggestion - color code the high current ports to make them easier to see, and loose the "Apple" and "Android" labels. :)
